In 1997, Arsenal explored the possibility of moving stadiums, after being denied planning permission to expand its current home stadium, Highbury. After careful considerations, the club bought an industrial and waste disposal estate in Ashburton Grove in 2000. Relocation to the new site began in 2002, but due to financial difficulties, work didn’t start until February 2004.
Emirates Stadium was completed in 2006 and cost a total of £390 million. With a capacity of 60,704, Emirates Stadium is the fourth largest football stadium in England.
This beautiful piece of art was originally illustrated over many hours using pencil, fine liner and pro markers. Now it’s available as a high quality print in a variety of sizes, framed or unframed. A lovely alternative to commercially produced football posters and canvas.
