This stunning silver plated circular pendant is handmade by Nimanoma, in her studio right here in Horsforth and is part of her Cyanotype range of jewellery.
Cyanotypes are made by creating a photosensitive fluid from two chemicals. This can then be brushed onto a surface and can be used to make photographs. These particular chemical react to the uv in sunlight. Botanical items can be place on the surface and the unprotected part of the photo reacts but those parts in shadow won't. The final stage is a rinse under a tap to halt the process and develop the image which turns this fabulous cobalt blue.
The pendant is sealed using a deep layer of resin to protect the design. The resin creates a lens effect over the design magnifying the detail and giving an attractive shine.
The silver plated pendant base is 25 mm in diameter.
A 18" sterling silver chain is included.
Packaged in a stunning dragonfly stamped, black gift box.
