Our Seedballs make a great little gift for any gardening or would-be gardening enthusiasts! Each pot contains approx 20 little balls of clay full of wildflower seeds (between 30-150 per ball), peat free compost and a touch of chilli power to keep the birds and insects from pinching them!

Simply scatter them on top of your soil and water - it's as easy as that! The suggested use is 20 balls per m2 for a good garden display or 3-5 balls in a medium sized pot.

Sprouts will be seen from 2-6 weeks after sowing although regular watering will speed up the process.  Best sown in Spring and Autumn.

There are 10 varieties available, all with slightly different wildflower mixes :)

Choose from:

Bee MixA mix of native wildflowers that bees will just love! This carefully selected mix is designed specifically to attract solitary bees, honey bees and bumblebees. Each seed ball contains approximately 30 seeds from a mix of Birdsfoot Trefoil, Foxglove, Red Clover, Viper’s Bugloss and Wild Marjoram – all recommended as bee-friendly plants by the Bumblebee Conservation Trust. Plus a sprinkling of pollinator-friendly annuals Chamomile, Cornflower, Corn marigold, and Night-flowering catchfly.

Butterfly Mix - A mix of native wildflowers that are perfect for butterflies! This lovely collection of mostly purple, pink and blue flowers is designed to attract butterflies to our gardens, balconies and window boxes and uses only flowers recommended by Butterfly Conservation. Each seed ball contains approximately 30 seeds from a mix of Purple Loosestrife, Forget-me-not, Musk mallow, Red campion and Yarrow, plus a sprinkling of pollinator-friendly annuals Chamomile, Cornflower, Corn marigold, and Night-flowering catchfly.

Bird Mix - this mix includes wildflowers that are perfect for attracting birds to our gardens to feed on seeds and insects. According to the RSPB, a lack of habitat and food abundance has lead to huge decline (over 50% in the last 45 years) of many common UK garden bird species.  Bird Mix is designed to feed the birds for you, and is a much more sustainable option to buying bagged bird feed! The careful selection of plants will boost the food supply for a wide range of birds including goldfinches, blue tits, chaffinches, greenfinches, robins, starlings, increasing the number of birds seen in your garden. Whilst in bloom the flowers will attract insects that many birds feed on, while birds will also feed directly on the plants and seeds themselves.

Urban Meadow MixA beautiful mix of native wildflowers that is perfect for pollinators and the most hardy of our wildflower mixes. Urban Meadow is a colour combination of annuals and perennials  and each seed ball contains approximately 30 seeds from a mix of Common toadflax, Cornflower, Cowslip, Meadow cranesbill, Musk mallow, Oxeye daisy and Red campion, plus a sprinkling of pollinator-friendly annuals Chamomile, Cornflower, Corn marigold, and Night-flowering catchfly.

Hedgehog Mix - The UK’s hedgehog population is struggling, with numbers down by 50% since the turn of the century, but we can all do something to help by growing British wildflowers! A wildflower patch is a super addition to creating a hedgehog friendly garden, not only in providing shelter but importantly to attract a whole range of tasty insects for hedgehogs to feed on. Yum! Each seed ball contains approximately 30 seeds from a mix of Yellow Rattle, Wild Carrot, Birdsfoot Trefoil, Tufted Vetch, Self Heal and Poppy.

Plantlife Mix - The ideal mix for garden flower beds! Curated by wildflower conservation organisation Plantlife, this mix includes five native wildflowers that are most likely to thrive in the nutrient rich soils commonly found in our gardens. Each ball contains approximately 30 seeds per ball from a mix of Meadow buttercup, Oxeye daisy, Red clover, Self heal and Yarrow.

Shade MixA mix of British native wildflowers that are ideal for shadier areas of your garden and balcony. While these will struggle in total shade (as would all flowers!), this mix is designed for spots which receive only dappled sun or sun for just one part of the day (although will grow equally well in areas of full sun). Each ball contains approximately 30 seeds from a mixture of Bellflower, Forget-me-not, Meadow buttercup, Meadowsweet, Oxeye daisy, Ragged robin and Red campion.

Mum’s Meadow - a limited edition version of the Plantlife Mix. The mix includes five native wildflowers that are most likely to thrive in the nutrient rich soils commonly found in our gardens.  Each ball contains approximately 30 seeds per ball from a mix of Meadow buttercup, Oxeye daisy, Red clover, Self heal and Yarrow.
